The Ministry of Health Puntland was honored to participate in the Health Policy and Systems Research Conference,a two-day event organized by Somali Institute For Health Research (SIHR),University of Bosaso Garowe Campus, and CADIR , bringing together government institutions, researchers, partners, and the private sector to strengthen evidence-based decision-making in the health sector

The Honorable Minister of Health officially opened and closed the second day of the conference, reaffirming the Ministry’s strong commitment to advancing health policy and systems research as a key pillar for improving service delivery and health outcomes.

The conference featured abstract presentations and rich discussions across three key thematic areas:
• Health Governance & Universal Health Coverage (UHC)
• Scaling equitable access and quality of RMNCAH-N services
• Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases

These discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening health systems, improving service delivery, and ensuring equitable access to quality health care for all.

In his closing remarks, the Minister Mohamad Abdirahman Mohamed Farole emphasized collaboration, stating:
“I call on all stakeholders, government institutions, the business community, and researchers to work together to make a positive impact on improving the country’s healthcare system.”

The Ministry remains committed to working with all partners to translate research into action and drive sustainable improvements in the health sector.
