The Ministry of Health (MoH), Puntland was re-established in 2001 following formation of the autonomous Puntland State of Somalia. MoH Puntland works to support the Puntland people in attaining better health, improving health outcomes, and providing quality health services to all nine regions. <\/span><\/p>\n

To attain these goals, the government\u2019s policy for the health sector is centred on these priorities:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Scaling up of essential and basic health and nutrition services (EPHS<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Overcoming the crisis of human resources for health<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Improving governance and leadership of the health system<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Enhancing access to essential medicines and technologies<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Providing a functioning health information system<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Health financing for progress towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC)<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Improving health sector physical infrastructure<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Enhancing health emergency preparedness and response<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Promoting action on social determinants of health and health in all policies<\/span><\/p>\n

The organisational structure of MoH Puntland is as followed:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Department of Human Resources<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Department of Admin and Finance<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Department of Planning, Policy and Development<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Department of Public Health<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Department of Primary Health Care<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Department of Medical Health Services<\/span><\/p>\n

Each department has sub-programmes with well-trained and qualified programme managers and staff. MoH Puntland has regional and district health offices to ensure that the population is covered at every level.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, there are multiple stakeholders such as ,UNICEF, WHO, UNFPA, IOM, WFP, \u00a0World Bank ,Save the Children, WVI, MSF, Tadadum Social Society, Care International and the Somali Red Crescent Society, who have contributed to the development and strengthen of the Puntland health sector. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
